Simon Kahan

Chief Executive Officer, Biocellion SPC

Since founding Biocellion SPC to commercialize Biocellion software, Simon has been responsible for marketing, sales and business development, rolling the Biocellion snowball forward to see what sticks. He also has thirty years experience in high-tech and high-performance computing at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Tera Computer, Cray, Google, and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Simon received his M.S.E.E. from UC Berkeley, his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Washington where he is Affiliate Faculty, and an M.A. in Organizational Development from Seattle University. He holds an Affiliate Faculty position at the Institute for Systems Biology, where the story of Biocellion began.

The one word that would most characterize Beth is creative. After retiring from 20 years at Johnson and Johnson as a Global Research Director, Beth started a new career in organizational development. She has started multiple companies ranging from industrial design to training and development. Her energy is highest when the problem is complex. She’s consulted for multinationals, regional companies, NGO’s and local companies most frequently supporting executive team development and generating collaborative cultures.

In 2010, Ilya and his colleagues asked the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to develop a way to test computational models of cancer cells at tissue scale. The response was to create Biocellion. Ilya heads the Shmulevich Lab at the Institute for Systems Biology which develops and applies computational and mathematical approaches for modeling biological systems and analyzing large-scale data sets. He is valued by Biocellion for his sense of humor, his deep spirituality and his warm friendship.

Jonathan guides all aspects of corporate finance. He was the first partner at Andersen Business Consulting and has thirty-eight years of experience in business consulting and start-up incubation. Jonathan is the Founder of Grow50, a consortium of leading professional firms which work with some of the fastest growing private companies, including high tech enterprises. He has been inducted in the Bellevue Hall of Fame after being awarded the Best Business Coach of the Year 7 times.
